Welcome from the Chair Governors

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Edwards. 

I am the Chair of Governors for Mere’s Edge Federation which was formed in 2017 to secure the sustainability of both Cockshutt and Criftins Primary schools.  The Governing body consists of ex-pupils, current parents and local skilled committed individuals. 

We offer extended care at both sites and a nursery provision at Cockshutt. We have in-house catering services at Cockshutt which provides healthy, nutritional meals and snacks. 

Wellbeing is very important to us and as such we have a learning mentor who works between both sites supporting pupils and parents. 

Both schools are rural church schools and our values reflect this. We offer an inspiring curriculum which focuses on all subjects encouraging every child to achieve. We purposely plan visits and invite groups into school to complement and widen our curriculum. 

Staff never rest on their laurels, they are hardworking and committed. We are one school family split between two sites and we support each other to achieve together.
